The Society of Arts and Crafts is a Boston staple. Incorporated in 1897, the Society has been at the forefront of the American Arts and Crafts movement – fostering the development, sales, recognition, and education about crafts for over one hundred years.
Just last year, the Society moved into a highly-coveted 9,000 square foot space on the Boston Seaport, increasing visibility and allowing them to better serve their artists. Alongside their physical transformation, they also needed a complete overhaul of their digital infrastructure, more specifically:
- a new website to support their rebranding efforts and better tell their story;
- integrated e-commerce to augment sales’ reach beyond the physical walls;
- a constituent relationship management (CRM) system, namely Salesforce for Nonprofits, so they can centralize transaction data, orchestrate two large juried fine craft shows per year, and most importantly, better understand their people and automate processes machines do well – handle data and workflow – so their staff can do what only people can do: spend time with artisans, members, donors and customers;
- a new point-of-sale system that seamlessly integrates with e-commerce – and vice-versa; and,
- strategy, implementation and management of a $120,000/year Google Grant to attract and engage more web visitors with nurturing processes to convert those visitors into constituents.
