The Commercial Club of Chicago had their polished designs ready to rock. Ninety-nine percent of the time we handle the entire project, from Discovery to implementation. This one was a bit different, as they had designs and requirements in-hand. They needed a rock solid CMS with extensive SEO capabilities, something that made content edits a breeze with a workflow wrapped around it. They needed a new, easy way to manage events, and most of all – the site needed to attract the best talent, and validate the objectives of the organization.
With the design handed to us on a silver platter – we went straight into prototyping, so The Commercial Club of Chicago could see real-time progress and updates on a daily basis. They could see how easy it was to add and edit their content with a very swift learning curve. Speed and Google Core Web Vitals were imperative to this, as people needed to view the needed content extremely quickly. The result: an all-encompassing web platform that’s built to scale.
This project was paired with The Civic Committee of Chicago, so it was important to coordinate development activities across all teams involved. Change management was at the forefront, so if there was a change in one project, it was important to ensure consistency between both platforms. Since this project was strictly development , our Discovery process centered around speed, internal operations, and user adoption. Everyone needed to feel comfortable using their infrastructure. If technology isn’t easy, it won’t be used. We rolled out the new system via group and one-on-one training, and the site can now serve as their communication hub to all they serve.
