Christopher House has a unique model that combines a continuum of personalized education and immersive family support, extending well beyond the classroom. They needed to accurately communicate the core values of their organization, and have a user experience that allows their students and parents to find information quickly and easily. Their content needed to be “flattened” – reducing the number of clicks to get to their stories, that needed to be front and center. Overall, they needed a better digital presence that reflects the stellar work they do in the Chicago community.
Christopher House had a wealth of tremendous creative assets, which is typically the hard part. We needed to make those assets sing and extrapolate the success stories built over the years – and translate all that to the web. The user experience was built to speak to the 360-degree view of their constituency. Bringing their impact front and center can help inform and motivate funders, while also keeping their educational core at the forefront.
We always start with Discovery. We need to understand the organization as well as their own team.
Next, there is extensive content and competitive analysis. This work results in identifying tremendous insights into what content truly performs. To ensure the user is always at the center of the entire experience, personas are developed to illustrate and summarize the variety of their constituent users groups. We were able to combine the strategic approach with data-driven research.
All of this rolls up into the digital strategy, which drives the wireframes. Then, instead of spending weeks looking at static design documents, we go directly into prototyping, allowing a hands-on and collaborative approach for all involved.
